Saturday 7th - Festival Expo

St James' Hall, Pahau St 10- 3pm, Free

Stall holders include: Jasmin Purnell (regenerative farming), Buttercup dairies, DOC, Boomerang Bags, Thames Green Dollar Exchange, Thames Produce Swap (at 11am), Bright Smile seedling swap, cheesemaker Katherine Mowbray, Veronica the garden forager, Hungry bins, School Strike for Climate, EV information.

Saturday 7th - EV test drives, St James Hall Free

Enthusiastic local EV owners will have their 100% electric wheels available for rides and test drives and will answer your questions about this rapidly growing transport choice. Several Electric Car models will be on display, including the popular Nissan Leaf and Hyundai Ioniq.

Note: bring your driver’s license if you’d like to take a car for a drive.

Saturday 7th - Infinite game workshop, St James Hall 2 - 4pm, Free

Niki Harré is a professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland. Her recent research projects have focused on sustainable communities and schools, positive youth development and political activism.

Sunday 8th - composting workshop 9358 Paeroa Kopu Rd 10- 12.30pm, $20

Wednesday 11th - Thames library, 3.30pm, Free

Ordinary people sharing their sustainability story in an interactive way.  Audience can ask questions after.

Wednesday 11th - Smart Environment recycling facility tour, Kopu 10am, Free

Join a guided tour of the recycling facility . Safety gear provided by participants must wear flat, closed toe shoes.

Saturday 14th - Reusable nappy intro with Raising Ziggy, Thames Plunket Rooms 10am, $10

Will include demystifying cloth nappies, easy wash routines, the lingo explained, comparisons and where to start.

An optional goodie bag can be purchased for $20 (worth $45).

Saturday 14th - Sustainable periods with Raising Ziggy, Thames Plunket Rooms 12pm $10

How, what and why for: Menstrual cups, Cloth pads & Period Underwear. Also
Opportunity to touch and play with products
Talk about The Good Fund for period poverty.

Sunday 15th - Home & garden eco tour, Various locations St 8.30- 3pm, $20

Guided tour of homes and gardens in Thames. Meeting in Grahamstown you will be chauffeured to Halls Aboretum, Hauraki Terrace community gardens, an earth build home and organic garden in the Kauaranga Valley, the Bright Smile community garden, and finally a sustainable town garden. Lunch will be at Bright Smile community garden; BYO or pick salad greens there.

Funds raised will contribute to the Hauraki Terrace community garden fund for future building and ongoing plant procurement. Wear walking shoes/gumboots, dress warmly and bring a raincoat - just in case!

Tuesday 17th - Basic bike maintenance, Jolly Bikes workshop, 10-12pm, Free

Learn howto change a tyre and other easy bike maintenance tips.

Wednesday 18th - School sustainability in action, Moanatairi School 11:30 -pm, Free

This is an opportunity to see a school committed to protecting our environment through sustainable practises and educating students towards a sustainable future. Practices include native gardens, class gardens/Garden to Table, worm farms,
composting, Bokashi and Solar Panels. Refreshments from the garden will be served. Please email to register t3coregroup@gmail.com

Sunday 22nd - Meet the candidates evening, Thames Civic centre 5 - 7pm

Meet all the candidates for the 2019 local body elections; mayoral, councillor and community board.

Sunday 22nd - Cheese making workshop with Katherine Mowbray, 10:30 - 2pm, St James Church $40 (includes recipe book)

Learn to make halloumi, feta, ricotta and mascapone at home. Bring a friend and learn the skills together. It is a fun-packed session with lots of information. And also includes cheese tasting.
